The new dry pack information
You can find the information on the dry backpack at the following link SeaLine Dry Backpack
The suspension on this pack is both very comfortable and easy to adjust. They are not cheap, but nothing made well anymore is cheap. Of course as my luck would have it they dropped the price since I purchased mine. lol
Be well folks,
Sonder
I attached a small day back onto the drypack. I wanted to see if I could do it in a manner that I could pack out. This is also the same set up that I will be using in Maine next year and needed to work out possible kinks in my plan.

Grayling Region Michigan Fishing Day 1 - Wakely Lake
We got up at 0800 and we made eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, link sausage, and home fries.
We then loaded up the fishy mobile and headed out to Wakely Lake.
A floatube is not the best for open water when it comes to the size of a medium lake.
With the sustained winds coming out of the north northwest and me starting out on the south shore and that situation had disaster written all over it.
So, after battling the winds for an hour umm I was done. The lake is beautiful, and the wildlife is abundant.
I never got close to any loons, but I did get a few nice photos of the flora.
The smaller items in it are like reels, fly boxes, spools of mono, and other smaller items.

Grayling Region Day 1
We hello we drove with the threat of rain the entire trip up here. Then while we were getting the gear from the vehicles to the house the skies began to dump. The rain was coming down in buckets and lets not forget the lightning. We will go and fish Wakely lake tomorrow and then we shall turn our efforts to mousing the mainstem of the Au Sable.
The house is amazing, and the bonus game room is attached to
the one car garage. As you can see the house is awesome! It was clean and has
everything you would need and or look forward to in a rental.
It’s time for bed folks!

Here is my tentative itinerary for vacation.
We will arrive later afternoon on Saturday after stopping at Cabela’s in Dundee, MI. After getting a MI fishy license and a sportsman card we will continue to head north for an additional 3.5 hours to our rental house. We will do a visual inspection of the rental pad.
We will unload the cars and stow gear, then we will go get
the weeks groceries. I will most likely have
my second wind by this time and want to go fishing. I think we will elect to take it easy until
night fall and head out to mouse the main stem of the Au Sable our first
night.
So, fun fact the photos below is from the last time my ole friend
and I fished together. We will laugh a lot about this while on our new
adventure.
Also, while we will be up here my friend who is a retired
professional photographer is going to help me with my digital photography. I can’t
wait to learn more. We will be visiting some dark zones. If your asking what a
dark zone is, following this link. https://darksitefinder.com/map/ it
takes some getting used to on how to navigate it, but once you figure it out
you can learn to really appreciate what they have put together.
We will also be paying a visit to a dark park. This will be
my second dark park. The Headlands International Dark Sky Park. The moon phase
will be a threat to a better dark sky, but I will make do. A reel nice web site
can be found here https://www.cleardarksky.com/cgi-bin/sunmoondata.py?id=HDSKPMI&year=2023&month=6&day=25&&tz=-4.0&lat=None&long=None
After this it will be all fishing and photo taking. I will
have an opportunity to get some close up and personal Loon Photos. This should
be very entertaining.
I am off work today and I need to get my eggbeater spooled
up with my floor mono.
Be well folks,
Sonder

Lake Erie breakwall looking for smallies
The winds were out of the SSW and no one was home. This breakwall was built out of metal sheeting and from what I could tell the structure was not condusive for smallie fishing atleast for me. I shall look for new water else where. Here is a dredge doing dredge things!

Star Trail Photos
Tonight if I wake up at like 0200. I'm going to go take some star photos. Then on Sunday I'm going to take an eggbeater to a breakwall out on Lake Erie. I have high hopes for some small jaw action.

I tried to hook up with a few post spawn smallies
Well, my shoulder and I got some much-needed exercise. lol I went to the Grand today. My thought was the spawn should be over and well the actual spawn should be done but they are still guarding their spawn. I saw a lot of suckers doing sucker things. I worked on my range of motion with my shoulder and my casting stroke. I only brought jigs with me to the river. I should have brought the top water baits.
A juvenile Bald
Eagle buzzed me a few times as I watched him learn how to be a better bird of
prey. I went to a few headwater access areas of the Grand.
She was plenty skinny and had some mud and I could not wade this section of the river.
So, this next part of my blog entry has me a wee bit upset. Around here we have a huge Amish community. I have traveled all over this wet marble, and I have met people in both hemispheres. I learned to not judge a person by how they speak, how they dress, and or how they conduct themselves.
I also learned at an early age that we are all people and while some people may have more money than me or nicer clothes this does not make them a better person.
Back to my point, while driving through Trumbull County I passed several Amish farms. I safely passed Amish carriages with care and where a passing lane was present. Unlike others that disregarded the safety of others and on blind curves in the road. I don’t get the selfishness of others while driving.
I continue to
witness mindless behaviors. I witnessed a flat board trailer being pulled by a
work horse while a person a full-size dodge power-wagon decided to tailgate an
Amish man through town. People just need to just grow up and respect others.
