... well I was going to fish the Cheat, buit instead I am going to visit family. With all the wind, rain, and mediocre fishing conditions no thank you. I will do a report on the river from a sight seeing venture. Stay tuned!

Well its been a while since I fished shes part of the Mississippi River watershed here in Ohio. I would take the long route to get there and back but its all about the adventure. I got there to see the fog blanketing the landscape. I would bring my 6wt switch rod and using the steelhead master series now called the Anadro. Follow this link 3M finally figured out that the vast majority of us are confused with line weight vs grain weight and put some great info about there line. https://www.scientificanglers.com/product/mastery-anadro/ I wont go into my long rant about how the industry is so messed up when it comes to this but I want to ..lol... The fog danced across the corn fields and the water and holy cow it felt nice but it was chilly willy this saturday morning. I knew cause the of the river level she would be less likely to have recreational traffic on her waters surface. I would find several common carp and fish all the structure I could find using long leaders and tippet. I would not wan to to take the time on this day for ole leather lips or Mr. Hoover. I fished only a short section of her, but in that section she showed me how unkind the weather temps are treating her. So I picked up my pace and walked about a mile back to the chariot. I only fished a black over white clouser with prism eyes. This clouser also had a little red in the throat to show gill flare. Well thats gonna wrap it up for me. I'm still planning on the Cheat trip and I am keepining a close eye on the hurricanes.
